5 on Friday

1. I haven't posted in awhile because I am exhausted! Not really sure why but I am. Hopefully this will end soon because I have a lot to do this holiday season!

2. I went shopping the day after Thanksgiving and had a blast! Got up at 2:30 and shopped till 10a.m. I am officially done with all of my Christmas shopping and have 90% of it wrapped. I even got a tree (it's a white one, I couldn't have a fake green one because I have had real ones my whole life).

3. I officially live with car guy now. That's right we are living in sin. I debated even posting about this but what I figured what the heck! Everyone has their own opinions about it. For us it just made more sense because I was always over there anyways and it is saving me money on rent.

4. I am going out to dinner tonight with I guess at this point is my old roommate. We are going to eat Mexican and I am already hungry and can't wait.

5. I am soooooo glad that it is Friday. I felt as if it would never come. I had a lot of errands to run this week and believe it or not I got them all done. (Our school was renovating this week and we had the option of not being there and it didn't count against us so I took advantage of that a couple days this week)

Happy Friday!

5 on Friday

1. Excited its friday! Don't really have anything too exciting planned. School tomorrow, dinner and a movie with a good friend and laundry on Sunday! There is tons and I am not excited about that.

2. Went to Texarkana last weekend to visit car guy's family. Had a absolute blast and i wish we were still there! We will see them again at Christmas though so not much longer.

3. This is the first Christmas in my 26 years that I will wake up Christmas morning and not be with my mom and grandparents. It will definitely be different, but I think I'll be alright ha ha!

4. Thanksgiving is next week and I'm so excited, but for the wrong reasons. I can't wait for the ads and for black friday. My mom and I have been shopping black friday for as long as I can remember, so I will easily give up my Christmas so that way we can spend Thanksgiving with my family and my mom and I can still shop!

5. School has been kinda frustrating lately.....I know I always talk about how great it is but sometimes just like everything it has its moments. Just thought I would share.

(I have never shared this story before and have been debating over it for a few days, but I figure if it could possibly help one person than it was worth it.)
5 years ago today, I was dating a guy named Stephen. We met my sophomore year of college. We were basically inseparable from the day we met. We dated for about 5 months before we moved in together, which is really crazy to me looking back because I was only 19 years old. I never thought twice about my decision. We moved in together and immediately started playing house. We got along great and rarely had disagreements. We were so young, but for me this is what I had always wanted. I wanted to get married young and have kids young. However, this wasn't in god's plan for me. Stephan and I talked a lot about marriage and he too wanted to have kids young. We were renting a house and were looking into buying a house to start all of our dreaming in. I felt my life was complete, there was nothing more I wanted. I was going to school to be a teacher and I had a great boyfriend and we were going places, we had a future together. Stephen loved to hunt. He hunted every weekend of hunting season. I mean every weekend. He would hunt with anyone who would go with him. His favorite though was to hunt with his dad. 5 years ago today he went hunting with his dad. This would be the day that changed my life. He got up at 3:00 am to meet his dad. He was running late because they were supposed to be leaving at 3. I don't remember much about that morning but I do remember I though he had left, but he came back into the room and kissed me and told me he loved me. I got up that day and got ready for work. He called me while I was getting ready for work and told me about how he had just missed a huge deer. This was the last time I talked to him. I went to work that day as usual. I got a call at about 3:30pm from his mom telling me that Stephen's dad had broken his leg and they were airlifting him to baptist east. She asked me to call Stephen and tell him to drive his dad's truck home from the woods they were hunting in. They were hunting in Selmer, TN which is about an hour an a half from here. This didn't make sense to me because I figured Stephen would have had to be the one who called to get his dad airlifted to the hospital. I called him anyways and he did not answer. A few minutes later Stephen's mom, Kay called me back. She sounded upset, so I asked her if she wanted me to meet her at the hospital cause I was almost done at work. She said she did so I finished up what I was doing. She called me back a third time and told me I needed to get there soon. I left work as fast as I could and I kept calling Stephen all they way there, but he wasn't answering. I never thought much of him not answering. I assumed he was driving his dad's truck back and probably knowing him had the windows down and the radio up. I got to the hospital and there was a man waiting for me at the door. He asked me if I was Megan and I said yes, I thought to myself "wow this is so nice they have someone waiting for me to show me where everyone is". While we were walking his aunt walked up and was crying. I figured Stephen's dad was in really bad shape. We walked around to a room where Kay and a few other people were standing. She walked up to me and hugged me and told me that Stephen had died. I was so confused. What had happened. How was this happening to me? Things like this didn't happen to me...I had heard about crazy things like this but they had never happened to me.

Random Ramblings

  • I hate whistling. It drives me crazy! Its like nails running down a chalkboard for me!
  • Car guy and I are going to Texarkana (his family lives there) this weekend. Every six weeks he gets a three day weekend, which is nice because I feel like about every six weeks we need a break from our busy lives. I am super excited and therefore I feel worthless this week. I will probably be worthless the week after we get back to. Funny how vacation does that to you.
  • I can't wait for Thanksgiving. This is awful but I love waking up Thanksgiving morning and reading the ads for black Friday. I absolutely love black Friday and my mom and I have been shopping the day after thanksgiving for as long as I can remember.
  • Car guy's engine is blown on his car, so he had to get a new one. He got a Volkswagen CC, so now we are both Volkswagen owners :)
  • We got new stations today at school. Every month we move stations. Its based on our percentage of attendance. Me and my beauty school bestie are still next to each other. Probably cause we manage to miss the same days, not really sure how that happens. Oh wait, its probably cause we text each other the night before if we aren't gonna be there! Ha!
Guess that's all for today!

I've been hacked....

Yep... I have been hacked. Someone somehow got into my AOL account and is sending out all of this junk mail to EVERYONE in my contacts list. I have had my email account since I was in 7th or 8th grade, so everyone includes people that I have been friends with at any point since then and sent them an email. It also includes people I go to church with, worked the church nursery with and so on and so on. These emails sometimes are ads for things that are not so much appropriate. This time is was a list of different drugs. This is also the second time it has happened. This first time was when I was on the cruise and honestly since I was out of the country I didn't think much of it. I thought this would be an easy problem to fix. Wrong! So I tried to change my AOL password. Well to change my password, it asks me a security question. The security question is what is the name of your school. Like I said I have had the email address since I was in the 7th or 8th grade. I have tried entering in EVERY school or combination of schools I have ever been to and none of them seem to be the right answer. It has the option to click here if you forgot your password. So I clicked on it, and it wants to know the name of the person on the account and the home phone number and the last 4 digits of the credit card in which your account is billed to. I don't pay for AOL, but I did have AOL, back in the day when you did have to pay for it and I'm pretty sure whatever credit/debit card this was billed to back in 1996 probably no longer exists.
Sooooooooo I called the 800 number to try and explain the situation. The 800 number sucks. It was an automated person who wants to know all of the same information the computer does. Then it asks me to say the first 3 letters or numbers of my AOL email address. It then tells me it cant find it on record. Really? I use it everyday so I'm pretty sure its there. I hit every option the fake teleprompter person gave me and the closest I ever got to talking to a real person was that if I would like to talk to a live person I would have to pay to upgrade my account. Are you kidding me? So I don't know what to do. I thought about telling them I would upgrade my account just so they would put me through to a real person, but right now that is my only option. I deleted all of my contacts except for a few close friends and family who I know won't get mad or think my computer is sending them viruses if it happens again. I'm hoping if the hacker tries to send out a mass email again before I figure this out then he/she might be discouraged when they see I only have like 5 contacts now, but who knows. Any suggestions? I'm desperate.........

If you can't say something nice don't say anything at all

Today at school I let my school bestie cut all my hair off. I like it. I think it's a really stylish haircut. I have gotten all kinds of compliments on it. But I have also gotten A LOT of rude remarks, such as "Why would you cut all of your hair off?", "What happened to all your hair?", and even a straight up "I don't like your hair". I don't really understand this. When I was younger my mom taught me or maybe it was the Bambi movie ha ha that if you don't have anything nice to say then don't say anything at all. Now my good friends I will tell them if I don't think something looks good such as a shirt or something, but honestly I don't think I would tell them that I didn't like their hair or something personal like that because if they like it then that is all that matters. I just really don't understand how so many people could have no manners! Do they not realize how hurtful these things could sound or how rude it is and that they could hurt someones feelings? I'm just glad I was raised right and that I watched Bambi as a kid! I will post pictures of my new hair soon. I would do it now but I would kind of feel like a dork taking pictures of myself at work! ha ha

~Megan

P.S. Oh and I just had the best one yet. I got "oh don't worry it will grow back". I responded with "oh I'm not worried cause I'm not the one that doesn't like it". I mean are you freaking kidding me?? What is wrong with people? I seriously do not get it!

The Power Of Positive Thinking

I found this quote on one of the apps on my iPhone (yes dad there's an app for that). I feel like it is so true. Especially about things and decisions I made when I was younger. So many times I would decide I just HAD to go do certain things that when someone would give me a reason against that I just didn't listen. This is particularly true in a past BAD relationship I was in. Everyone kept telling me this guy wasn't good for me but I so badly wanted to prove everyone wrong so I didn't listen to anything anyone told me that was negative. Everything happens for a reason though and god has a plan for everyone and sometime you have to go through some bad things to get to the good ones. I am happy to say that I am certain that I have all good things and positive people in my life right now and I am so very thankful for them.

And no I'm not advertising for AT&T (ha I wish I was getting paid to advertise for them)it just happened to be the ad at the bottom of the page when I took the picture. Although I do have AT&T and I love it and think they are great :)

Happy Birthday Dad!

First of all I would like to say Happy Birthday to my dad! Today is his birthday, and I am super excited because at the end of the week he and my step mom will be here visiting. Happy Birthday Dad!! My dad is a super cool guy to hang out with and we always have a great time together. Can't wait for this weekend!

Car guy and I finally carved our pumpkins last night. We figured we had to get it done since Halloween is Sunday. I finished mine last night. The face is a little high up on my pumpkin because I was nervous about putting it too low. Go figure! Ha. Car guy didn't finish his pumpkin last night cause we were watching American Greed while we were carving and apparently he was a little distracted. (Maybe I should be concerned?) Like I said before I carved an albino pumpkin, and it was really cool because even all the goop inside was white. I'm not really sure what color I expected it to be, I guess I didn't really think about it.

Hair Picture Overload

A couple of weeks ago my friend Christy and I went to the Ingram Hill album release party. Ingram Hill is a local Memphis band that has had a couple (I know at least one) radio hits. Christy is a hard core Ingram Hill fan and we actually went on a road trip for her 30th birthday and saw Ingram Hill and Thriving Ivory in Mobile, AL. It was a really fun trip and we decided we would take another road trip for my 30th birthday. I'm thinking the beach! But I have a few years to think about it. Anyways here are two pictures of the band from the concert.

Also here are some pictures of a few of the updo's I have done recently.

The ones that look like I'm at a laundry mat are from when I worked the dispensary at school. Not sure if everyone knows what the dispensary is or not but it's where we hand out supplies like towels and the manicure and pedicure kits and conditioner and stuff. We all have to take a turn working the dispensary and its actually kind of fun cause you get a break from everything and still get credit hours and points for working on your mannequin.

Friday Night Lights

Carrie Underwood was really good. Bill Currington opened for her and Sons of Anarchy opened for Billy Currington. She is an amazing performer. Here are some pictures from the concert.

Our seats were pretty good. I'm actually surprised at the quality of pictures that my iPhone took. Normally I feel like the iPhone doesn't take that grand of pictures but last night it was a good night for the iPhone. Thursday night however the iPhone did not have a good night. Car guy and I went to Ubee's to hang out with Devan (my friend from Beauty School) and her boyfriend. We sat outside and I had my phone in my back pocket. (Note to self : putting your phone in your back pocket while you are out is an extremely BAD idea.) Anyways it feel out on the concrete causing half of the glass on the front to shatter. It still works and I can still see the screen, but it just sucks big time. But oh well another life lesson learned ha ha!

Five on Friday

1. I got sick (probably from the weather changes) last week so that's why my blogging slacked up a little. Not that I'm a regular blogger anyways, but I try to do at least a post a week!

2. Car guy and I got an albino pumpkin to carve and will hopefully do that this weekend, since we both have some time off. If it looks decent I will post a picture :)

3. I'm finally starting to feel like I have some balance in my life between work, school, and friends. It only took 10 months but ya know adjusting takes some time I guess.

4. I downloaded the new Sugarland CD at midnight on Tuesday when it came out (I'm a dork, I know). And I am so loving it. It has been all I have listened to this week.

5. I learned how to curl hair using a flat iron. A lot of people know how to do this and I couldn't quite grasp it until this week. I love curling hair that was because I feel like the curls last a whole lot longer and don't fall as much with a curling iron.

Tomorrow night I am going here

To see her

and I am SOOOOOO excited!!!

Five on Friday

1. I finally have pictures to post and have tried to post them all week and for some reason they are not uploading to the blog. They are on my computer but I can't get them to transfer to here?? So hopefully I will figure it out soon.

2. My sister is coming this weekend so that should be fun. I'm also going to touch up her highlights.

3. I have finally gotten to a point at school where I have "regulars". I like that because it gives me a chance to interact with the customers more and find out what they like and what they don't like when I do their hair. I have two appointments next Friday back to back and I think that's kind of neat!

4. I love that its about to be fall, but I hate the back and forth weather we are getting right now. One week its cold and the next week its hot so in about a month everyone will be sick and passing it around. Ugh!

5. I'm actually excited to go to school tomorrow. (normally I dread school on Saturdays, cause everyone else is at football games or doing fun stuff and I am at school.) I started cosmetology school as something that I thought would be a fun career and everyday it turns more and more into a passion. I absolutely love it and I am so glad I decided to do it. I just wish I would have known that this is what I wanted to do when I graduated high school and I could have saved myself some time and some money. But ya live and ya learn.

Have a good weekend!

My Trip

I had every intention of putting up pictures from my vacation when I got back. Sunday, when we got back car guy was playing with my phone when it froze up for a second and he decided to just turn it off and turn it back on (I have an iPhone). Well lately when if my phone gets turned off it wont come back on without being reset. Well this time that didn't happen. It wouldn't come back on at all. So Monday I took it to the AT&T store and they told me to take it to the apple store. So I took it to the apple store and the guy there told me that he would have to do a hard reset on it (whatever that means) and it would take about 15 min and it would delete all my contacts and stuff I had on my phone and that I would have to re-sync it with my computer at home. Well since I had no other choice and I hate not having a phone I said to go ahead with the reset. Well needless to say it deleted ALL of my pictures that were on my phone. I thought if I went home and did the re-sync they would come back, but they didn't and I cant find them on the computer so I'm not sure if they are even on their still. I am soooo sad about all of this because I had about 150 pictures on their from all kinds of stuff and now they are all gone. I do have pictures from our vacation on my camera but my work computer doesn't have the program to upload them. I haven't had a chance to upload them to my home computer yet but as soon as I do I will post them and put all the details of my vacation up! We had a great time and actually drove down to Pensacola and went para sailing before coming back home. We had a blast.
I'm back at school and I am loving being a senior. It's a lot more freedom, and I get my own station now. I was having to drag all my stuff in and out everyday in this suitcase. Let me just tell you that suitcase with all the stuff I need is HEAVY to have to get in and out of the car everyday! So now I can keep everything I need at my station and can forever say goodbye to carrying around a suitcase! That's all that has been going on with me pretty much.

Cant win for losing

The phone has rang of the hook today!!! And they have all been the most long winded people in Memphis. I think there is a long winded club meeting going on today and they are all sitting somewhere taking turns calling me!!!!

So we are leaving on our cruise tomorrow. Tropical Storm Karl is also turning into a hurricane and it looks as though our paths might cross a little. Now I know that they wont let us get on the boat if it's not safe, but even if it is safe I will be so upset if it rains the whole time. So please pray for our safety and for my boyfriend's happiness, cause if I'm devastated because of the rain, I'm sure I might rain on his parade a little and might effect his happiness. Ha. I like my little analogy!

I'm officially crazy!

Last Thursday car guy and I went bowling after work. We had both had stressful weeks so it was the perfect
was to just relax and have fun together. I grew up bowling, both my mom and dad bowl and have been on bowling leagues, and I was on a bowling league last summer. Now I'm not an awesome bowler but I am not
horrible either. Here were our scores from the second game we bowled.

My score is on top and his score is on bottom. He told me he doesn't like bowling with me. He doesn't like the fact that he gets beat so bad by a girl. Ha! He had suggested we go and play putt putt (he played on the golf team in college). I promised him he would kick my butt every single time in putt putt no doubt, cause I am terrible!!!!! There is a putt putt course on the cruise so we will have to try it out.

I had a great weekend. My sister came in town, which is always fun. We get along great now and always enjoy each others company. We are six years apart so when we were younger, like when I was 12 and she was 6, we didn't really have all that much in common. Friday night car guy and I went over to some friends of ours house and then we ended up at flashbacks. I don't know if I have talked about flashbacks before or not but this place really is a blast from the past. The people that go there all look and act as if they are caught in the 70's, so it is a fun place to go and just people watch and have a good time. Saturday, my sister and I had lunch at Huey's and then went and saw the movie Going the Distance with Drew Barrymore. It was hilarious, and I would definitely recommend it. Saturday night we went to a party at car guys boss' house. I was soooo tired Saturday night but we ended up staying till 1 am. Sunday I went to lunch with my mom and we went to the Germantown festival. It's like and arts and crafts fair and it was a lot of fun but it was really hotter than I expected it to be. Then I just came home and started the laundry.

We leave to go on the cruise in 1 day. We are getting up at 4 am Thursday morning and leave out of Mobile, AL, so it's a 6 hour drive. We have to be on the boat by 2:30 and the boat leaves at 4 pm. The we have a day at sea and then Cozumel (we decided not to do anything in Cozumel, I wanted to swim with the stingrays and he wasn't crazy about the idea and we thought about doing the zip lines but decided we would just walk around and shop and then go to Senor Frogs. My brother and sister and I love Senor Frogs and if you have ever been there you know why. They always have a party going on!) and then we have another day and sea and then we are back in Mobile on Monday at 8 am.

And here is the reason I am officially crazy!

Yep I traded my old Beetle and bought ANOTHER beetle! For those of you who know me and are trying to figure out how many I have had this is my 4th Beetle. I have owned a silver hardtop, an orange hard top, a navy blue convertible with a tan top, and now a white convertible with a black top. So I feel like I am officially a crazy Beetle lady! But I have good reasoning behind it. This is the last year they are making them so I had to get a last year edition one. I also got 0% and my payments are going to be significantly lower, so I figured why not!!! Plus, is what I would like to do is the next time I have to get another car, (like if I ever need a 4 door car for something) I would like to not trade the Beetle and just get another car and just keep the Beetle looking nice and use it for fun and maybe one day it will be worth something and if not I could always save it and give it to my kids one day, but I'm sure by the time I have kids those cars will be so "uncool"! Ha!

So if I don't blog tomorrow I definitely will on Tuesday with pictures from the cruise! Yay!!

Have a great rest of the week and weekend cause I know I will!

Pictures

So first picture....this lady and her dog came into the dealership where I work and well I just HAD to take a picture of this!!! I have never seen a dog that would be that calm and wear sunglasses! The dogs nails were painted pink to match the pink bow and the pink sunglasses!

This is a picture of me and my beauty school bestie girl Devan (from the bowling student appreciation day that I talked about)....I have a guy friend named Devin as well, so we always refer to her as girl Devan!

And these are the famous perm pictures. This is actually one of the perms from my test out. So they are getting much better and I don't hate them as much!!!

The Things I Don't Understand

I don't understand why when people get a flyer in the mail that we sent them, why do they feel the need to call up here to let me know they no longer want to be on our mailing list?? For starters I don't personally send out these mailers, a company does it for us and no I don't know who they are nor do I have their phone number! So I was wondering do these people call Walmart when they send them an add in the mail? Or Firestone when they send out coupons in the mail? Probably not. They waste more time calling up here complaining to me about the flyer that took up sooooo much space in their mailbox than if they just throw it in the trash. I mean really people please just throw it in the trash for pete's sake.

On another exciting note, I am officially done with the practical portion of the junior test out, now all I have left is the written portion. THANK GOODNESS!! and i will officially be a senior for the rest of the time I am in school. Scary. It is crazy to think of how fast the time has gone by. This year of my life has gone by really fast so hopefully graduation will feel like it is just around the corner. Then it will be find a job time, which will be scary again! I have some pretty good connections though so I'm hoping those will come into play when the time comes.

I have done so much better on my perms lately and I even took pictures of what I would say is my best perm yet, unfortunately I cant get the pictures to load to the computer, but as soon as I do I will put them up so you can see them.

Fifteen days until me and carguy take our cruise to Cozumel. I can wait! It will be a much needed break. A small break but a nice one. We leave out of Mobile, AL on a Thursday and get back Monday morning. I will definitely post pictures of that! That's about all that is exciting in my life right now. Friday night carguy and I are going to Zoo Brew with some friends of ours. Zoo Brew is held at the zoo and they have over 100 beers from different parts of the world that you can try. I have always wanted to go but every year when I go to buy tickets they are sold out, but this year I lucked out!

Lately...

Its been awhile! I have been so busy lately! This week I am testing out of the Junior class to be a SENIOR!!! I cant believe it has gone by so fast. I will be a senior for about a year though so now is when it will probably start to slow down a lot. So here's a recap of what has been going on....my teacher made me do my first haircut and color on a client a couple of Saturdays ago to help me get over my fear. It helped a lot but I am still a little scared. This upcoming week is student appreciation week and on Thursday school is closed and we are going bowling instead! I'm really excited about this cause they are giving away prizes (like hairdryers and curling irons) and I really hope I win one! My sister came in town this weekend to visit and we went to Olive Garden Thursday night, Friday night I went and had dinner with my friend Sally and then went and met up with car guy and some friends of his that were in town. Saturday i went to school and then came home and highlighted my sisters hair again, well I just did the touch ups that needed to be done, and then went to Salsa for dinner with car guy and his friends. Sunday, me and my sister and car guy went to breakfast and then Sunday afternoon me and car guy went to the lake and went jet skiing with some friends of ours. We ended the weekend with dinner at The Boiling Point and it was a blast. Car guy and I are going on a cruise to Cozumel in September and I can hardly wait. i am counting down the days and the things that I need to get together! I will keep better updates (according to my step mom I have been slacking lately! lol)

One of those days

Today was one of those days.

We are able to do anything on the clinic floor now.

I can cut, color, and do whatever to people's hair on the clinic floor.

This wasn't supposed to happen for another 4 weeks. I haven't even been through Color 3 or Sculpture 3.

But because of a teacher being let go we only have one teacher for the juniors and seniors. The seniors get him on Tuesday all day while we are out on the clinic floor. And we have him in the classroom the rest of the week.

This terrifies me. I am one of those people that I don't feel confident if I don't know all of what I am supposed to or if I have not mentally prepared for something (yes I know you can't mentally prepare for everything in life, but if I could trust me I sooo would!)

Needless to say I have been worrying about this for quite some time now. I know I just need to get the first one over with and it will be a piece of cake from there. I know that I am in school to learn. But I am learning that I am a perfectionist. I am afraid that if I mess up on my first school haircut or color that I will be afraid to do more of them. I have cut several people's hair, but I knew them. I even highlighted my sisters hair. I swore up and down I would NEVER do her hair cause she would be my toughest critique and if I messed it up I knew she would probably make me cry and tell everyone (maybe even people she met in line at wal-mart that I messed up her hair). Ok so maybe I'm over exaggerating about her a little...but really it's just a little.. you see dramatics runs in our family and me and my sister tend to get a little over dramatic SOMETIMES ( you know I lova ya sam!). But needless to say her hair turned out good and she loved it. But my fear is still the strangers that walk in off the street that scare me most. But I am working on overcoming it. So I am on the floor again on Saturday and I will let you know how it goes.

I should probably rename this blog confessions of a worryacholic! ha!

Perms

I HATE PERMS!!! (That's with a capital HATE!)

Period.

Outside my window: cars and sunshine
The time is: 6:30 pm
Today I feel: better than I did Saturday
I am thinking: about the future way to much!
I am going to: meet a friend after work for a drink
I am wearing: A black dress and Zebra heels
I wish: Everything would fall into place soon :)
I am reading: Cosmopolitan Magazine
I am working on: planners at work
I am hoping: ....lips are sealed!
I am hearing: My manager talking
Around the house: I need to finish laundry and straighten up
I bet you didn't know: I have had 3 beetles since I was in high school. 2 hard top ones and one convertible. What can I say I think they are adorable!!!
One of my favorite things to do: Go to the pool after work with car guy and relax and talk about our days.

Friiiiiiday!

On the border tonight for dinner with my sister and some friends.

School tomorrow and then a possible manicure and pedicure and then a relaxing evening cooking dinner on the grill and then watching a movie with car guy. (I am excited cause this is the first Saturday night we haven't had plans in awhile!)

Sunday we are going to the Vesta Home Show. We have been watching My First Home on HGTV at night sometimes, so I was able to convince him to go to the home show with me. I will be curious to see what he thinks.

On Wednesday it is car guys birthday. I have a couple of ideas of what I'm going to do for it but nothing definite yet. Hopefully I will decide over the weekend. Have a great weekend!

Wordful Wednesday

Still house sitting for my friends who are in Hawaii. It makes me want to buy a house sooooo bad! But I am not going to do that until I have at least finished school. But it has been fun playing house that's for sure. I live in a house now that my roommate owns, but its different when you have a roommate. I have been trying to cook most nights I have been there since I can take advantage of a big kitchen and a grill outside. I am definitely not used to the big dog named Lucy they have though. My roommate has 2 little dogs and they get a little hyper but for the most part are pretty calm when you are watching t.v. and stuff. Not Lucy, the moment I try and sit down and relax (which is usually about 10 or 10:30 these days) she wants to play with a toy or be up in my face, I am really not a pet person (not sure why they asked me to watch their dog cause they know this ha ha!)so this kind of gets on my nerves. Then I feel guilty cause she has been in the house since I left at 8 in the morning and if I was in the house all day like that I would probably be excited when someone finally came home too. I am going to try and cook fried rice tonight. Try being the key word there. I "tried" to make Asian fried rice and chicken one night for car guy and the chicken was really dry and the rice had a funny taste to it. I'm not sure if it was because it was Asian fried rice or if I just screwed it up somehow. It was probably me that screwed it up, needless to say we went to Taco Bell that night even though car guy tried to tell me it was good, I knew better! I really would like to go see the new Toy Story movie, but I don't want to see it in 3-D. The only 3-D movie things I like are the ones at Disney World and Universal Studios and places like that. We did facials at school today, and after I do 2 more I can give them to clients. I also learned how to wax eyebrows yesterday. Waxing someones eyebrows makes me a little nervous but I'm sure over time I will get the hang of it. I am still nervous about working on clients too but the more practice I get the less nerve racking it becomes. So I guess everything just comes in time.

Junior

I am officially a junior now. I had my first client Saturday. She just wanted a shampoo and condition though so it wasn't that bad. I am still nervous for Wednesday which is the next day I will be on the floor. I don't really have much to report I had to babysit Saturday night and on Sunday me and car guy went to the pool during the day and then went to Huey's to eat dinner with some friends of mine. I am going to be house sitting for my friend Beth and her husband while they go to Hawaii so we had dinner with them so she could give me all the instructions for taking care of their dog and their plants. They are going for 12 days and I am super jealous. When Beth comes back from Hawaii, we are going to see the Eclipse movie at Midnight, which I am super excited about!! Hope y'all have a great week!

Atlanta Bad Blogger and My Birthday!

So I have been an awful blogger lately! Atlanta was awesome though! We drove up there Thursday night and got there at about 2 am Atlanta time. We got up Friday morning and ate Dunkin Doughnuts for breakfast. (That's my favorite!!) Then Friday afternoon we went to the outlet mall, where I get a new coach purse and some other goodies. Friday night we went to the Cheesecake Factory for dinner and it was delicious as always. Saturday we went to the Aquarium and let me just tell you going on a Saturday was a bad idea we got run over by like 14 strollers and there were kids everywhere! I think we were the only people there without kids. It was still fun though. Saturday night we went to the Braves game and it was a blast. Sunday ate Mexican for lunch and then headed home. We had a blast and would have loved to stay longer.

This weekend is my birthday weekend. For those of you who know me my birthday is a huge deal to me. My birthday is actually on Monday. Well today Atlanta boy who most people refer to as car guy sent me flowers at work, which was a huge surprise. The reason i say this is because if the boy buys me a bag of m&m's at the grocery store he would call me and tell me about it before he saw me. He cant keep a secret to save his life! So I was very proud of him for not telling me and letting me be surprised. He is a pretty awesome guy who spoils me probably a little too much! But I am definitely NOT complaining :) They had a little birthday party for me at work today and that was really sweet! I have worked here for 6 years! I started here when I was 19, and that seems like sooo long ago.

So tonight I am going to see Sex and the City 2 with the girls and we are getting dressed up to go see it and I am sooo excited. Tomorrow night we are all going cosmic bowling for my birthday and then Sunday I am laying by the pool and the going to Spaghetti Warehouse for dinner. Monday I am off work and (its my birthday if I haven't already mentioned that ha ha)and I am just laying by the pool and the barbecuing with my family! Hope y'all have a great Memorial Day weekend!
P.S. I will be a Junior, June 8th and I am super nervous. I can work on real clients then! I can only do roller sets, perms, and manicures and pedicures, but I am still really really nervous about it!!

May Happenings

I took my first test as a sophomore and got a 97 on it. Hopefully that is a good sign of what is to come for the next 8 weeks. I signed up to volunteer at Memphis in May and I am working music fest on Saturday and Sunday and I'm starting to regret it a little. I know I will have fun but I have just been so busy lately that I would really love and appreciate a weekend where I could just relax and have nothing to do. I am actually going to get one too. I am going to Atlanta for a long weekend May 13-16. We are going to a Atlanta Braves game and going to eat at the Cheesecake Factory which I am super excited about. I am going with a boy who I am not quite ready to talk about on my blog but if this long weekend goes well then I will officially talk about it when I get back ;) He also says he has a surprise for me while we are down there, so I will let y'all know what that is when I get back as well. I am no longer selling premier, because it is time for me to renew and I really don't have the time required to do it anymore. I do plan on picking it back up once I graduate because I figured while I am cutting hair I could let all the women look at a premier jewelry catalog ha ha. I am also thinking about joining Junior League either this year or next. My biggest concern with joining it this year is that I don't know if I would have the time to dedicate to it like I would like to. I have till I think May 16th to make a decision so I will let ya know what I decide on doing. I permed my mannequin's hair today but I can't get my computer to upload the picture so when I do I will post it. Have a great week!

I haven't blogged in a while....so it's a picture overload!

  • So I haven't blogged in a while and I figured I would just let y'all know whats been going on. I got my hair highlighted about a week ago and I love it.

  • The weather here has been BEAUTIFUL and I have eaten on the patio at On the Border more times than I have needed to! But I have been with some of my best friends so it made it all worth while. This is a picture of me and my roommate on the patio at On the Border. (you can see my highlights in this picture)

    • I

I will be a sophomore on Tuesday.... Yay!!!

      We started haircutting and highlighting.

This is my mannequin that I shaved. I uploaded the pictures in the wrong order so the hair goes from short to long ha!

This is my Kate Gosselin hair cut. :)

This is a stacked hair cut. (My least favorite as of now!)

These are my highlights. These are a little harder than I expected but I personally don't think they look that bad considering it was my first time.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!
