Today at school I let my school bestie cut all my hair off. I like it. I think it's a really stylish haircut. I have gotten all kinds of compliments on it. But I have also gotten A LOT of rude remarks, such as "Why would you cut all of your hair off?", "What happened to all your hair?", and even a straight up "I don't like your hair". I don't really understand this. When I was younger my mom taught me or maybe it was the Bambi movie ha ha that if you don't have anything nice to say then don't say anything at all. Now my good friends I will tell them if I don't think something looks good such as a shirt or something, but honestly I don't think I would tell them that I didn't like their hair or something personal like that because if they like it then that is all that matters. I just really don't understand how so many people could have no manners! Do they not realize how hurtful these things could sound or how rude it is and that they could hurt someones feelings? I'm just glad I was raised right and that I watched Bambi as a kid! I will post pictures of my new hair soon. I would do it now but I would kind of feel like a dork taking pictures of myself at work! ha ha

P.S. Oh and I just had the best one yet. I got "oh don't worry it will grow back". I responded with "oh I'm not worried cause I'm not the one that doesn't like it". I mean are you freaking kidding me?? What is wrong with people? I seriously do not get it!

The Power Of Positive Thinking

I found this quote on one of the apps on my iPhone (yes dad there's an app for that). I feel like it is so true. Especially about things and decisions I made when I was younger. So many times I would decide I just HAD to go do certain things that when someone would give me a reason against that I just didn't listen. This is particularly true in a past BAD relationship I was in. Everyone kept telling me this guy wasn't good for me but I so badly wanted to prove everyone wrong so I didn't listen to anything anyone told me that was negative. Everything happens for a reason though and god has a plan for everyone and sometime you have to go through some bad things to get to the good ones. I am happy to say that I am certain that I have all good things and positive people in my life right now and I am so very thankful for them.
And no I'm not advertising for AT&T (ha I wish I was getting paid to advertise for them)it just happened to be the ad at the bottom of the page when I took the picture. Although I do have AT&T and I love it and think they are great :)

Happy Birthday Dad!
First of all I would like to say Happy Birthday to my dad! Today is his birthday, and I am super excited because at the end of the week he and my step mom will be here visiting. Happy Birthday Dad!! My dad is a super cool guy to hang out with and we always have a great time together. Can't wait for this weekend!
Car guy and I finally carved our pumpkins last night. We figured we had to get it done since Halloween is Sunday. I finished mine last night. The face is a little high up on my pumpkin because I was nervous about putting it too low. Go figure! Ha. Car guy didn't finish his pumpkin last night cause we were watching American Greed while we were carving and apparently he was a little distracted. (Maybe I should be concerned?) Like I said before I carved an albino pumpkin, and it was really cool because even all the goop inside was white. I'm not really sure what color I expected it to be, I guess I didn't really think about it.

Hair Picture Overload
A couple of weeks ago my friend Christy and I went to the Ingram Hill album release party. Ingram Hill is a local Memphis band that has had a couple (I know at least one) radio hits. Christy is a hard core Ingram Hill fan and we actually went on a road trip for her 30th birthday and saw Ingram Hill and Thriving Ivory in Mobile, AL. It was a really fun trip and we decided we would take another road trip for my 30th birthday. I'm thinking the beach! But I have a few years to think about it. Anyways here are two pictures of the band from the concert.
The ones that look like I'm at a laundry mat are from when I worked the dispensary at school. Not sure if everyone knows what the dispensary is or not but it's where we hand out supplies like towels and the manicure and pedicure kits and conditioner and stuff. We all have to take a turn working the dispensary and its actually kind of fun cause you get a break from everything and still get credit hours and points for working on your mannequin.

Also here are some pictures of a few of the updo's I have done recently.

Friday Night Lights
Carrie Underwood was really good. Bill Currington opened for her and Sons of Anarchy opened for Billy Currington. She is an amazing performer. Here are some pictures from the concert.
Our seats were pretty good. I'm actually surprised at the quality of pictures that my iPhone took. Normally I feel like the iPhone doesn't take that grand of pictures but last night it was a good night for the iPhone. Thursday night however the iPhone did not have a good night. Car guy and I went to Ubee's to hang out with Devan (my friend from Beauty School) and her boyfriend. We sat outside and I had my phone in my back pocket. (Note to self : putting your phone in your back pocket while you are out is an extremely BAD idea.) Anyways it feel out on the concrete causing half of the glass on the front to shatter. It still works and I can still see the screen, but it just sucks big time. But oh well another life lesson learned ha ha!

Five on Friday
1. I got sick (probably from the weather changes) last week so that's why my blogging slacked up a little. Not that I'm a regular blogger anyways, but I try to do at least a post a week!
2. Car guy and I got an albino pumpkin to carve and will hopefully do that this weekend, since we both have some time off. If it looks decent I will post a picture :)
3. I'm finally starting to feel like I have some balance in my life between work, school, and friends. It only took 10 months but ya know adjusting takes some time I guess.
4. I downloaded the new Sugarland CD at midnight on Tuesday when it came out (I'm a dork, I know). And I am so loving it. It has been all I have listened to this week.
5. I learned how to curl hair using a flat iron. A lot of people know how to do this and I couldn't quite grasp it until this week. I love curling hair that was because I feel like the curls last a whole lot longer and don't fall as much with a curling iron.

Five on Friday
1. I finally have pictures to post and have tried to post them all week and for some reason they are not uploading to the blog. They are on my computer but I can't get them to transfer to here?? So hopefully I will figure it out soon.
2. My sister is coming this weekend so that should be fun. I'm also going to touch up her highlights.
3. I have finally gotten to a point at school where I have "regulars". I like that because it gives me a chance to interact with the customers more and find out what they like and what they don't like when I do their hair. I have two appointments next Friday back to back and I think that's kind of neat!
4. I love that its about to be fall, but I hate the back and forth weather we are getting right now. One week its cold and the next week its hot so in about a month everyone will be sick and passing it around. Ugh!
5. I'm actually excited to go to school tomorrow. (normally I dread school on Saturdays, cause everyone else is at football games or doing fun stuff and I am at school.) I started cosmetology school as something that I thought would be a fun career and everyday it turns more and more into a passion. I absolutely love it and I am so glad I decided to do it. I just wish I would have known that this is what I wanted to do when I graduated high school and I could have saved myself some time and some money. But ya live and ya learn.
Have a good weekend!
