Rambling Wednesday

This post is going to be kind of random. I got a 92 on my test yesterday. I am pretty proud of myself for how well I have done in school. If only I had applied myself half as much as in high school and college as I do now! ha. We are doing color this week in school. Today I dyed my mannequins hair a reddish color. I will try to remember to take a picture of it tomorrow.

I gave up alcohol for lent. So the last time I drank was February 14th. Not that I'm an alcoholic or anything but this has been a little hard. I do drink casually when I'm out with friends and things like that so its definitely different when your always drinking water. I have learned a few things about myself by not drinking, like that I can still go out dancing all night and not have a single drink. (I was the designated driver and I have to say I didn't mind at all, I actually liked having fun and not waking up feeling yucky the next day.) I'm actually not sure when I will drink again. I think it has helped me lose weight though. I have lost 13 pounds since January and would like to lose 13 more. I guess we will see how that goes though. Also I am totally in love with all the cutie headbands. A girl at school had one and I totally am loving it and had to get myself one. (And I think I look a little creepy in this picture, but I wanted to show y'all the cutie headband! ha)

Skipping School

Tomorrow I am skipping school. I am going to observe at a local salon in Memphis and I am very excited about it. I met a girl last weekend who works at the salon and she graduated from the same school I'm going to and also goes to my church. She suggested I come by one Saturday and observe and it just happen to work out for this Saturday. I figured it's never to soon to start looking at salons and see which ones I would like to work at.

I am really liking the time change. Even though I still don't get off work till after dark, it still feels earlier, I guess because it stays light so much later. I really wanna see The Bounty Hunter this weekend, but not really sure if I will get to. Maybe Sunday after church I will go.

New Up Do

I have been sick again lately. This is the second time in two weeks!! Its so aggravating! I had to go back to the Dr on Saturday and get a shot and more medicine. Ugh. I don't think I ever really got over my first sickness is what the problem is. Hopefully this time it is gone for good though.

I haven't really been doing much, still juggling school and work. I volunteered to work at Memphis in May this year. I think it should be really fun. I usually go but have never worked it. So this year I am signing in the Bar-b-q teams. (Maybe I'll meet a cute bar-b-q guy ha ha)

I don't really have much else to say, we took a test today at school so I will let y'all know how I did sometime this week. Here are some pictures of a new up do we learned. Its pretty basic you just twist the hair in the sections and then basically tie them all together to make a headband.

Water day

So today at school we had a test. I got a 99 on it. I know I should be happy but I mean really a 99? That's soooo close to a 100 it just aggravates me. But oh well its still an A!

Moving on, so at school whenever we do a hair style or we are learning something new, we always have to wash the mannequin's hair before we do anything. So today while I was washing my mannequin's hair I got a little too much conditioner on my hands. So I grabbed the hose to rinse the conditioner out of my mannequin's hair and when I turned the water on the hose slipped out of my hand and end up spraying me. I got soaked! My t-shirt was all wet, my pants were all wet and half of my hair was all wet. It was quite embarrassing! My friend from school thought this was just hilarious though. I was more embarrassed cause there was an actual client a few chairs down who saw the whole thing! The worst part is on the first day of school they warn you about this happening and tell you to make sure you are holding on to the hose tightly cause you could end up getting soaked. Leave it to me to make sure that happens!!! Then when I got to work I spilled water all over my desk, so apparently me and water are not having a good day today ha!!

A Day in the Life

Today on Kelly's Korner she is talking about what she does on a typical day. So here is my typical day.



My day starts at 6:30ish usually. I get ready and head to school about 7:45ish. School starts at 8:30 and I leave at 1:30. I have 30 minutes to get to work. I get to work and change clothes and then work/study till 8 or 8:30 depending on how busy we are. Then I will sometimes go to the gym or go home and pack my lunch for the next day and get all my stuff ready to go. Then I try to watch a little t.v. and head to bed about 11.



So last night I went to the Leann Womack/Reba McIntire/George Strait concert! It was awesome. I got to go with my friend Kim and we had a blast. Here are some pics from the concert. The pictures look like we were really far away but we actually weren't my iPhone camera just sucks! We did eventually move closer about halfway through the concert and sat by my mom and step dad.







Tonight I am going out to dinner with some friends and then we are going bowling. Saturday I have school till 3 and then I have to babysit again for like the 5th Saturday in a row! I love the kids though so I'm not complaining! (and the money is nice too! ha) Sunday, I hope to go to church and then I am going to be LAZY and hang around the house and do absolutely nothing! Unless its nice outside and then I might change my mind!!! Hope y'all have a great weekend!

More Nail Art

So today at school we worked on our nail art and started our pedicures. I'm doing my pedicures tomorrow. I don't really have much to say today. I watched the bachelor last night while I was running on the treadmill. ( Its the first time in a week I have worked out since I was sick and needless to say I am feeling it today.) Anyways, I cheated and already knew that Vienna was going to win. Now I'm not going to say that I am Team Tenley either cause I read that shes not as sweet and innocent as she seems, but who knows. My favorite was Alli and I am excited that she is the new bachelorette. So here is the nail art I worked on today.

I tried to do a fireworks theme. But it didn't really turn out like I had envisioned.
